Children's Portraits
I like to capture contemporary portraits which are less posed, more natural and expressive than traditional portraits. This is generally strong, clean close-ups with a shallow depth of field; where the background is out of focus so that the subject stands out.
To achieve this I create a relaxed environment. This can be either at home or a nearby location, in which the children can 'be themselves' (within reason!) rather than encouraging 'best behaviour'.
A shoot generally lasts for around an hour which gives the children time to relax and have some fun.
